Britcar 24 hours success for TDi engineered Motionsports Lotus Elise!

The Motionsports Torque Developments engineered and trackside prepared Honda K20A powered Lotus Elise has recorded an excellent sixth place overall at this weekend’s Britcar 24 hours race. Facing some very high powered competition including large engined GT cars such as Mosler’s, Ferrari’s, Porsche’s, Marcos’s, Aston Martins and Ginetta G55′s, the 200 bhp TDi engineered Elise ran reliably throughout, despite being hit three times during the hours of darkness.

The Motionsport team is naturally delighted, in their own words:-

‘Genuinely it was a dream come true to race the 24 hours with such a professional and motivated team.Finishing a 24hr race is a great achievement in itself, but to finish P6 overall is pretty amazing, especially given the modest specification of the car compared to those around us. Massive thanks to the Sam Borgman from the TDi and the boys from TDi North for coming down to rebuild the engine too. Worth their weight in gold!’

To optimise durability, further reduce friction and improve camshaft timing accuracy TODA Europe recommends that the S2000 Heavy Duty Timing Chain should be used in conjunction with the accompanying Heavy Duty Timing Chain Tensioner. Designed specifically to overcome the standard oil pressure driven Honda automatic tensioner’s weakness of allowing the cam timing to slip under sudden engine braking, the TODA Heavy Duty Chain Tensioner is compatible with both the F20C and F22C S2000 engines and is designed to work with high compression engines with up to 1mm skimmed from the cylinder head.

Help the F22C1 engined Honda S2000 breathe freely with a new TODA Racing ‘Big Single Throttle’ body

      Honda’s US and JDM F22C1 engined AP2 S2000 may not have been an official import to these shores, but the 2157cc, 237bhp VTEC motor is often the choice of tuners, where capacity is all important. With this in mind, leading Japanese tuner TODA Racing has released a new ‘Big Single Throttle’ for the F22C1 machine.

Designed to improve performance by increasing the amount of air that the engine can breathe, the TODA Racing ‘Big Single Throttle’ features a 66.5mm diameter throttle valve (versus 64mm for the Honda original,) and a tapered entrance with a maximum width of 70mm.

TODA Racing’s AP2 Big Single Throttle is based on a new component, giving the twin benefits of improved performance allied to the reliability of a fresh, unworn throttle body. Dyno testing at TODA Racing has shown a 5bhp improvement.
