TODA Racing Honda Civic Type R FN2 lightweight engine pulleys

Leading Japanese tuning house TODA Racing has developed a set of lightweight alloy engine pulleys for the popular FN2 version of the Honda Civic Type R .

The reduction in overall weight of the pulleys allied to a reduction in parasitic losses enables lower transient inertia, resulting in increased responsiveness and engine acceleration from the I-VTEC K20A powerplant.

Produced from lightweight yet strong Duralumin A-7075, the key technical features of the TODA Racing Civic Type R FN2 pulleys include:-

A two piece crank pulley with optimised material specification to provide an efficient, low wear oil seal
The retention of the hexagon socket design on crank pulley so original Honda crank tool can be used for installation and removal
Special red anodised finish to enhance engine bay appearance (black / blue / gold) available at extra cost
Available in a/c and non a/c formats

Because installing a new timing belt is important to aid the running in process for the new pulleys, a new, standard length timing belt is supplied by TODA Racing for the a/c version. On the non a/c version TODA Racing supplies a special, shortened belt.

Prices and part numbers for the different pulley kits are as follows:-

13810–FN2–HAC (with a/c, including standard length belt) £360.00

13810–FN2–HOO (without a/c, including shortened belt) £380.00

The additional colour options cost an extra £50.00 and require a three week lead time.

First Torque Developments trackday a resounding success

We’re delighted to report that the first Torque Developments trackday, held on Tuesday 15th March, was a unqualified success, with many of our loyal customers enjoying the delights of the tight, challenging and undulating Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Torque Development’s personnel had a busy day as well, offering advice on set up and future modifications, as well as taking some circuit time themselves.

Torque Development’s customers attended with a wide variety of mainly Japanese machinery, including Honda Civic Type R’s, Subaru Imprezas and Nissan Skylines, who enjoyed ample running with little or no stoppages.

We’ll be arranging further trackdays over the next few months and look forward to inviting customers, both old and new, to take advantage of our pre-trackday inspection service and upgrade consultation service available from Torque Developments technicians.

New MUGEN GP alloy wheels and front fender covers launched for FN2 Honda Civic Type R

The larger disc diameter used with the MUGEN Advanced Complete Brake System is not suitable for the OEM FN2 Honda Civic Type R wheels, therefore a new 8 x 18 inch version of the MUGEN ‘GP’ alloy wheel, complete with a 46mm offset, is now available from Torque Developments.

Specifically designed to suit the requirements of either the MUGEN front aero bumper or the OEM Honda unit, the new ‘GP’ alloy wheels are available in a choice of Bronze, or Gun Metallic finishes and come with the following part numbers and pricing:-

The end result of careful design by MUGEN engineers, allied to thorough ‘real world’ street and circuit testing, MUGEN’s ‘Advanced Complete Brake System’ (ACBS) upgrade consists of the following components:-

Monobloc, high rigidity four piston front calipers in either gold or black finish, with dust boots for year round street driving
Large diameter, thicker (28mm compared to OEM Honda 25mm) reverse direction front grooved discs (320mm on Civic FN2 compared to 300mm OEM Honda)
Exclusively developed MUGEN front and rear brake pads (choice of Type Sport or Type Competition) designed to retain brake balance of car depending on use
