Japanese Honda tuning house MUGEN is pleased to unveil a new sports suspension kit for the Honda Civic Type R FN2, as used on the Civic Type R MUGEN.Featuring specially developed fixed rate dampers and lowering springs, MUGEN’s engineers focussed attention on improving the overall handling performance of the European model Civic Type R, particularly low and medium speed turn in ability.

To achieve this, MUGEN’s engineers have produced high quality lowering springs, which reduce the ride height by 10mm at the front of the car and 5mm at the rear. In conjunction with the specially valved dampers, the MUGEN sports suspension kit subtly, yet effectively enhances the dynamic qualities of the FN2 Honda Civic Type R, without sacrificing ride quality.

Japanese Honda tuning house MUGEN is delighted to release its latest performance enhancement in the form of a quick shifter gear mechanism for the six speed Civic Type R FN2.

The new MUGEN FN2 quick shifter features a 10mm shorter gear lever, which, allied to a more rigid rubber mounting, reduces the amount of movement required by the driver and cuts the amount of time taken to swap ratios. The results are an improved feel during gearshifts and a more tactile, direct, involving driving experience.

Designed, developed and tested by MUGEN’s Japanese engineers to OEM standards of performance and durability, the new MUGEN Honda Civic Type R FN2 quick shifter is a direct replacement for the original Honda gearchange mechanism.

Leading Japanese tuning house TODA Racing is pleased to announce the launch of an ‘Anti-G’ sump for the 198bhp K20AZ3 I-VTEC engine as used in the FN2 Honda Civic Type R hot hatch.

The Honda Civic Type R has always been a popular choice as a track day and race car, but circuit use can cause serious and potentially damaging engine lubrication issues.

This is because the combination of high speeds and long corners experienced during track sessions place high ‘G’ loadings on the FN2, causing the engine oil to ‘surge’ to one area of the K20AZ3’s sump.

Unfortunately this surge can result in areas of the bottom end of the K20Z engine with excessive levels of oil, while others are starved of lubrication as oil pressure falls. Ultimately, this can cause air to be drawn into the K20AZ3’s oil system through cavitation, potentially leading to expensive damage.

TODA’s Anti G sump has been designed to eliminate the risk of high speed circuit use, to ensure consistent and reliable lubrication at high ‘G’ loadings.
