Anyone running a Ford Duratec engine hard will probably have experienced alternator issues at some point. It’s particularly a problem for endurance racing cars and has been known to be the cause of many aborted races.

This alternator upgrade kit from Cosworth deals with issue, and comprises of a 40 amp racing alternator, revised tensioner, water pump pulley, mounting brackets and hardware, and a drive belt.

Legendary engine manfacturer Cosworth is synonomous with fast and high revving engines and success at the words leading motorpsort venues,   has launched a new range of high performance engine components for the Toyota 2ZZ engine as fitted to the Lotus Elise and Exige, and the 7th generation Toyota Celica.

The Cosworth 2zz short block assembly uses all brand new race quality parts with forged steel H section connecting rods, forged alloy pistons, uprated bearings, and is blue-printed, balanced and assembled at the Cosworth factory so you can be confident in it’s quality. Recognizing the different applications, Cosworth offers the short block with different compression ratios of 10:1, 12:1 and 14:1 in order to suit forced induction, and natural aspiration with various camshaft profiles and fuel types.

Cosworth forged aluminium 2ZZ racing pistons feature a low expansion material for reduce noise and oil consumption, polished crowns for enhanced carbon rejection, patented anti-detonation bands, under-crown milling for reduced weight, and xzlon anti-scuff coating fro reduced friction. The Cosworth 2ZZ pistons are available in the following formats:

Cosworth forged steel 2ZZ connecting rods are made from very high strength materials and feature special H design with detailed machining to reduce the weight as much as possible without compromizing durability,  and also incorporate high tensile bolts for additional reliability.

Cosworth Multi Layered Steel (MLS) cylinder head gaskets are available in various thicknesses and feature heavy duty steel construction for maximum integrity against failure, a 0.25 micron nitrile coating for improved sealing, and a folded stopper layer for knock resistance. The Cosworth 2ZZ MLS cylinder head gaskets are available in the following thicknesses:

Cosworth Phenolic Intake Gaskets offer a superior thermal insulation barrier between the engine and the inlet manifold. A cool intake charge has a higher oxygen density which provides better power output, so a Cosworth phenolic intake gasket is helpful to engine performance.

We’re big fans of Toyota’s awesome little 2ZZ-GE here at TDi-plc, as it’s found in some of our favourite cars, including the Lotus ELise / Exige, the Celica and the MR2. The latest Cosworth release for the Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine are forged pistons. Designed and manufactured 100% in house at Cosworth Engineering, the forged pistons use an optimised dome shape to maximise the compression ratio in combination with a design that features the most efficient use of materials.

With a wide variety of requirements in mind from turbo conversions to motorsport, the Cosworth forged Toyota 2ZZ-GE pistons are available in three compression ratio choices: 10.0:1, 12.0:1 and 14.0:1.

As well as being considerably stronger than the standard Toyota pistons, the Cosworth 2ZZ-GE forged pistons are up to 18% lighter, which helps to reduce the reciprocating mass of the engine.

A green Xylan Teflon based coating is used on the skirts of the 2ZZ-GE pistons to reduce friction. This coating also ensures that the Cosworth forged pistons are directly compatible with the Toyota engine’s metal matrix composite (MMC) liners.

 The Cosworth pistons for the 2ZZ-GE come supplied with bore compatible gas nitrided piston rings, gudgeon pins and circlips. The Cosworth High Flow Subaru Impreza Fuel Rail Kit is specifically designed for “top feed” style fuel injectors and is configurable for various fuel line installation scenarios. Each fuel rail is machined from solid aluminium and features a natural hard anodized finish for lasting durability.

Each kit includes  dash 6 AN fittings that will allow you to install fuel lines of your choice. This kit is intended for race and high performance applications for Subaru Impreza EJ20 and EJ25 engines as part of a fuel system upgrade and is not intended solely as a direct replacement for the factory fuel lines and fuel rails.
